The National Development Strategy (SND30) is now the new planning instrument oriented towards the Structural Transformation of the Cameroonian Economy to accelerate Cameroon’s march towards emergence by 2035.
Emphasis was placed on the development of a financing model for the agricultural sector, hence the opening of the Agricultural Window within the BC-SME in February 2021.
Our Agro Counter primarily finances five (05) sectors, namely:
- Local flours (banana-plantain, cassava, sweet potato)
- Poultry farming
- Creals (but, rice, sorghum, millet, etc.)
- Cocoa and coffee
- Fish farming
- And other sectors of the agricultural sector
In order to effectively support this sector, the Agricultural Window is equipped with adequate financial instruments that are support mechanisms for the operating and investment needs of small and medium-sized agricultural and agri-food enterprises (PMEAA) in particular:
- Cash management credits
- Group credits
- Credits related to the financing of value chains such as contractual agriculture (supply loan, seasonal loan, working capital, export credit, etc.); micro-leasing (equipment loan, investment loan, etc.); mutual guarantee and warrantage.
According to its new strategic plan 2024, the major challenge of BC-PME SA is to contribute to the strong growth of the agricultural sector by financing the sectors through its Agricultural Window to significantly impact IMPORT-SUBSTITUTION.
